Jamie Lynch Chairman
40ish yrs old and still a big kid at heart riding bikes for me is about the feeling of freedom and that’s what I love, having spent all my working life in a print factory there is nothing like heading out with friends on to the Downs for a long day in the saddle or maybe hacking some sweet single track in Friston forest, touring along quiet lanes and back roads looking for cream teas or even blasting along on the road bike lungs and legs screaming.
As a ride leader and Chairman I hope to help guide our club on its path and through experience and enthusiasm encourage more people whatever ability to “just ride!”
“Cycling, good for the heart good for the soul”Jill Club Secretary
I enjoy cycling on my own and with friends outside of the local area and I joined Cycle Seahaven so I could have the opportunity to cycle with others when I wish, explore new routes, and meet new people.
I am not a hugely experienced cyclist,so what I particularly like about the Club is that it is inclusive:we try our best to cater for all shapes and sizes and levels of ability, and give encouragement to improve cycling skills and fitness. That suits me!
I don’t know much about maintaining bikes,so it’s also great to have support and help from club members in keeping my bike tuned. I have somehow ended up as Club Secretary, and so am well placed to ensure that people like me are catered for by the Club.Denis Treasurer and Membership Secretary
I have ridden a bike since I was a child, but it wasn't until the growth of the MTB in the eighties that I found riding a bike so exhilarating and enjoyable. Even now in my retirement riding my bike is one of my top three activities that I enjoy the most.
In 2009 I was looking for some "development" in my cycling life when Cycle Seahaven was formed, since then as the club has grown it has formed an integral part of my cycling life, long may this continue.Andy (Gus) Campaigns co-ordinator
Although I’ve had bikes since I was a child I didn’t start cycling ‘properly’ until I was 35 years of age (over a decade ago).
It all started one day I borrowed my brother’s bike and cycled to Friston Forest, where I stumbled across the ‘Purple Route’ (now relabelled as ‘Red’). Until that point mountain biking was something I’d only vaguely ever heard of,but now I was hooked.
I’m now a ride leader for Cycle Seahaven and have been part of the club since it started. I like to join our family rides in the forest and also to help our members develop off-road skills and fitness.Rod Webmaster

I have been cycling since childhood. I got my first racing bike at the age of 14. As kids,we were never without our bikes, they were a part of our lives.
I absolutely love the feeling of being out and about on the bike away from life's complications. I get the buzz when climbing up and over the South Downs,an area on our doorstep that we are so lucky to live in. I get the adrenalin rush from my road bike when eating up the miles around the Sussex countryside. I started taking part in Cyclo Sportives last year and would highly recommend them. There is nothing better than riding with up to 1000 other like minded cyclists.
As a Ride Leader and Rides &Events Co-ordinator,I hope to plan regular rides at all levels to enable everyone to get out and ride.Jacqueline PR &Marketing
Bicycles have long been a part of my life. One of my favourite photos is one of my sister and myself with me standing on the back of my tricycle.
I enjoy cycling for the chance to leave behind work and concerns and for the opportunity to take in our beautiful countryside - details that I miss when I drive past them.
Cycling with Cycle Seahaven gives me this and more!Ian Committee Member

I thought of that while riding my bicycle. ~ Albert Einstein on the theory of relativity

Cycle tracks will abound in Utopia. ~ H.G. Wells
When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking. ~ Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
It's not about the bike ~ Lance ArmstrongDavid (Lurch) Committee Member
I have been cycling since the age of 4;it is in my blood and I have inherited the passion from both my parents, especially my father who was a champion cyclist in his youth.
I was a road cyclist up until 1990;I then discovered Mountain Biking and have not looked back since. I have been cycling the South Downs since 1994,after moving down from Bedfordshire.
Since being involved in the creation of Cycle Seahaven, becoming a member and ride leader;it has propelled my enthusiasm and love of cycling.
Discovering and sharing new trails and stories is all part of the riding experience. Cycle Seahaven is a place to learn, enjoy, share, keep fit, socialise, and almost importantly,be a little crazy and bring a smile home with every ride. See you on the trails ;o)Roger Committee Member
I have recently joined the committee of CSH as a general member. I'm married and have been cycling quite seriously since schooldays (a long time ago!).
I'm mainly interested in short fairly fast road rides (unfortunately his wife is not quite so keen!).
I also like to travel abroad with my bike and tend to spend my time between homes in the UK and Spain, also with family in South Africa. Tony Committee Member
In my teens,I was a keen touring cyclist but had not touched a bike for 50 years till last November. Since then,I have concentrated on off road and trail biking through the forest and on the Downs.
I particularly like flat traffic-free routes like the Cuckoo Trail and Downs Link so an essential part of my kit is a Thule car rack for two bikes.
My other interest which has brought me on to the Committee is mapping and I am in the process of producing a map of cycle routes for the Seahaven area.
