Dr Bike – I can’t wait!

by Ricky Carver

The idea of running a Dr Bike session once a month was not one that inspired me to start with, all the additional work and time spent not riding! Very soon it became clear that Dr Bike followed the ethos of the club and over the months, with the introduction of a Peacehaven Dr Bike, it became a way to reach interested and likeminded local riders of all ability’s and break perceived ideas of “a cycle club”.

On the way we did manage to fix more than 100 bikes, meet lots of interesting people, (including a young Peacehaven entrepreneur), drink tea eat cake, sign up new members and for those Dr Bike mechanics a chance to practice their skills on a variety of interesting bikes.

So I, for one, say I can’t wait for Dr Bike 2018.

Good work, I really enjoy Dr Bike. I hope we can get one going in Newhaven as the pump track project moves forwards.
