Saturday 16th June at Peacehaven Big Park
Dr Bike 10 am till 12.15
Health Ride 1 pm till 3 pm
Cycle Seahaven is proud to be launching the first local ‘Health Ride’ this Saturday – 16th June, in conjunction with South Downs National Park, at Peacehaven’s Big Park.
The day starts at 10am with a Dr Bike Surgery – where anyone is welcome to dust off their bikes and take them along for a check over, this runs until 12.15. Alongside Dr Bike there will be a small flat circuit, for anyone who would like to have a go. You don’t even need your own bike, Cycle Seahaven has a selection of bikes for people to have a go on, with Ride Leaders on hand to support.
The ‘Health Ride’starts from 1 until 3pm – all welcome – all ages. It’s a gentle one hour circuit towards Telscombe Tye and back along the cliff tops, with Ride Leaders on hand to support and help out. This will be off road and suitable for Hybrid or Mountain Bikes. Once again, the club has a selection of bikes (and helmets) to lend, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own. There will also be a couple of E-Bikes for those who would like to try out a bike that can be boosted with electric power, which can make cycling accessible for older folk and people with health issues.
If taking part with your own bicycle, please note the club has a ‘Helmets Must Be Worn’ policy. ‘Health Rides’ is an exciting new project aimed at getting local people out on bikes to enjoy the beautiful countryside and associated health benefits, that recent studies have shown. Wheels or no wheels, simply turn up, have a chat, try out the flat circuit and join in the Health Ride.
