Longer MTB pub rides

We have two off-road pub-rides coming up for December that are longer than our normal beginner ones, but will still be taken at a very slow pace.

Thursday 11th is an 16-mile round-trip to The Abergavenny Arms in Rodmell for a couple of drinks. It’s a very flat route, but half is on road and half on grass.  Route Map This is an ideal taster to see how you will cope on the ride the following week –

Thursday 18th is a fancy-dress ride to the Eight Bells in Jevington. Dress to impress or bling your bike. This route is slightly harder than the above ride, but last time we took this route (for Halloween) we had 18 riders between the ages of 8 and 71. Read our Halloween Ride Report for a bit more info on how it went last time.

For both rides it’s likely to be cold. Dress in warm layers that can be removed if you get too hot, and wear warm gloves that still allow you to change gears. A rucksack or panniers make carrying excess clothing a doddle. Best to carry too much on a cold ride. It’ll still be a real giggle and we go at the slowest pace.
