Ouse Valley Cycle Network (OVCN) have submitted a request to East Sussex County Council (ESCC) to be included in the bid for Local Sustainable Transport Funds (LSTF).
OVCN aim to set up a shared walking and cycling route from Lewes to Newhaven. This will mainly follow the banks of the Ouse –a flat and picturesque route that will connect our County Town to our International Seaport. The lack of a safe route along the C7 forces most people into cars. OVCN see this new route as a major step forward for recreation (picnics,family rides,sightseeing) and utility (work,shops,doctors,schools) cycling and walking.
ESCC have two bids in place,which OVCN consider to be a perfect fit:
- East Sussex Coastal Towns –Sustainable access,delivering growth and cutting carbon
- Accessing the South Downs in East Sussex
