WOW Ride, Saturday 15th January

WOMEN ON WHEELS (WOW) RIDE TO THE LODGE

WhenSat, 15 January, 10:00 – 13:00

WhereEdinburgh Road (bottom) where ice-cream van parks

  • New Members and Guests Welcome
  • Participants must wear a helmet and advised to bring drinking water, spare inner tube, pump, lights and a bike lock.
Description WOW 1st Ride 2022
Starting the new year with a gentle ride. 
Riding at the pace of the slowest rider and supporting each other.
Cycling along the cycle path to Newhaven where we will return back to Seaford along the same route. Stopping at The Lodge for Refreshments.
Relaxed return time. 
Sharing our route with walkers, dogs and fellow cyclists.
This route is suitable for MTB, Hybrids, Road Bikes, E-bikes.
This route is mainly tarmac, gravel, concrete. Mostly cycling along cycle paths with a small section of road from the Martello to The Lodge.
 
Refreshment Stop          The Lodge at the corner of Sutton Avenue and Links Rd in Seaford.

WOW Ride, Saturday 13 November

WOW RIDE TO MOLLY’S AT ROTTINGDEAN

When     Sat, 13 November, 09:30 – 13:30

Where     Edinburgh Road, Seaford

Description     We will ride out and back along the NCN Route 2, which takes us through Newhaven, via the Valley estate, to Peacehaven, then Saltdean on the shared path.
Mainly road unless we take any detours depending on rider ability. Returning the same way.
Helmet, lock and water required.
Suitable for all bike types.

Distance      About 20 miles.

Refreshment Stop     Molly’s Café at Rottingdean.

WOW Ride, Saturday 9 October

WOW- YHA CAFE SOUTHEASE

When   Sat, 9 October, 09:30 – 13:00

Description   Women On Wheels Ride to YHA Cafe Southease

PLEASE REGISTAR FOR THIS RIDE.

START TIME   9.30am

Riding at a gentle pace set by the slowest rider and supporting each other.

We will be sharing our route with walkers, dogs and fellow cyclists.

This route is suitable for MTB, Hybrids with knobbly tyers, E’bikes.

The route is mainly tarmac, gravel, concrete with a small section along Ouse Estrary that is Mud and grass. Mostly cycling along cycle paths with a small section of road along the C7 from Piddinghoe and again for the return.

Starting our ride cycling along the cycle path to Newhaven. Under the flyover and over the bridge to Elphic Road. From here we follow the track along the river to the Piddinghoe. We then join the C7 for a short Road ride before joining the cycle path to the YHA for refreshments. Reverse route for our return trip to the start location.

The total distance is approx 15 miles.

DUE TO CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS THE ROUTE MAY CHANGE. THIS WILL BE DECIDED ON THE DAY.

Participants must wear a helmet and advised to bring drinking water, spare inner tube, pump, lights and a bike lock.

WOW: Litlington Tearoom

There will be a WOW (Women On Wheels) ride to Litlington Tearoom this Saturday, 14 August. Riding at a gentle pace set by the slowest rider and supporting each other.

This route is suitable for MTB, Hybrids with knobbly tyres and E-bikes suitable for XC.

THIS RIDE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ROAD BIKES.

WOW (Women On Wheels) – Beanstalk Tea Room

Saturday, 10 July, 09:30 – 14:00

This will be a leisurely paced MTB ride starting at 9.30am and finishing at around 2.00pm. The route is suitable for MTB, hybrid and E-bikes with knobbly tyres. This is a beautiful cross-country route that will have the group passing through cow and sheep fields on the South Downs before descending onto the historic Old Coach Road where the Beanstalk Tea Room is situated. We will enjoy a leisurely lunch there in the company of the resident Peacock before riding back to Seaford.

The total distance is about 25 miles. Participants must wear a helmet and are advised to bring drinking water, spare inner tube, pump, lights, and a bike lock. The ride leaders are Sarah Winser and Kate Carver.
