Touring Rides: (New) Normal Service is Resumed

The touring rides are resuming after a four month gap. The first two rides will be on Sunday 19 July, One will be a Touring Plus (13½ mph average) ride to Bexhill and the other a Touring (12 mph average) to Horam. Details are on the Rides Calendar.

Group rides are limited to six cyclists so you will need to book your place by contacting the ride leader. Some rides may have two ride leaders; therefore there will be two groups of six cyclists (max) each. There will be an appreciable gap between the groups on the road. The ride to Bexhill on Sunday will have two ride leaders.

Social distancing rules will apply so cyclists must stay at least two metres apart. We have had some test rides recently and social distancing hasn’t been a problem. That’s mainly because we don’t chain gang/slipstream so we’re normally at least two metres apart.

Café stops will be outdoors and we’ll endeavour to go to places that have outside toilets at the café/tearoom or nearby.

So, normal service is resumed for touring rides or should that be: a new normal service is resumed?

Happy cycling,

Clive
