We have had had some great rides during spring and into summer. The weather has been kind; we’re now enjoying the sunshine and dry terrain. Sarah Winser
April
We cycled along the Ouse Estuary to Lewes and had lunch at The Medieval Festival. We stopped twice for refreshments which included cake as it was Kate’s birthday.
May
We cycled to Litlington Tea Gardens, cycling off-road on our outbound journey along the top of Rathfinny admiring the beautiful views of Cuckmere Haven and Valley. We returned home along the Litlington Rd.
June
We cycled from Southwater Park to Seaford, a distance of 38 miles. Denis kindly drove six of us to Southwater Park and towed our bikes on the club trailer. Two members rode from Seaford and Telscombe to meet us at SWP. Eight of us left the park at 9.30am and cycled along the Downs Link stopping in Henfield for coffee and cake.
We continued to Shoreham and stopped to have lunch at Carats Cafe. The weather was perfect and we followed the cycle path to Seaford. A slight sea mist kept the hot sunny temperature at bay.
A good mileage by all our riders on a variety of bikes: E-bikes, manuals and single speed. Kate C leading, Sarah W tec. Using our club radios was so useful.
